Bulgaria's Council of Ministers on Wednesday approved the inclusion of additional measures in the National Roadmap of OECD Cooperation Activities for the 2023-2025 Period, the Government Information Service reported.
The National Roadmap covers measures and activities intended to facilitate Bulgaria's progress towards accession to the OECD. The additional measures are included so as to set up a tool for monitoring compliance with the relevant requirements, which will help the achievement of steady progress in the accession progress.
Under the Council oif Ministers decision, the Inter-Agency Coordination Mechanisms (ICM) for Bulgaria's accession to the OECD is to review the implementation of the Roadmap once every six months and, if necessary, will approve the inclusion of new measures, proposing them to the Government for adoption.
By another decision, the Government joined Bulgaria to the OECD South East Europe Regional Programme with a EUR 100,000 voluntary financial contribution. The funding will be allocated on the Foreign Ministry budget. "After Bulgaria recently joined the OECD-Ukraine Country Programme, participation in the South East Europe Regional Programme further enhances the level of the country's commitments to OECD values and activities. This will have a favourable impact on the vigorously unfolding process of Bulgaria's accession to the Organization, which is a top foreign policy priority," the press release said.
