The German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce presented for the twentieth time the German Economy Award in Bulgaria for 2023. It is awarded annually to companies that have contributed to the development of German-Bulgarian economic relations in the previous year. The winner in each category is determined by a jury of high-ranking representatives from the business world, public life, politics and diplomacy.
In the "Large Enterprise" category the award went to Schwarz Global Services Bulgaria EOOD, in the "Small and Medium Enterprise" category - to Logisoft EOOD, and in the "Social Commitment" category - to Kaufland Bulgarien EOOD & Co. KD.
As an economic power, Germany plays an important role in shaping the economic landscape of its neighbouring countries and Bulgaria is no exception. German influence has helped to modernise various sectors of the Bulgarian economy, to promote innovation and to create a competitive business environment, said Chamber President Tim Kurth during the ceremony at the Chamber's New Year's reception. BTA is a media partner of the event.
He cited the latest data, according to which the trade between Bulgaria and Germany amounted to over EUR 11 billion in the first 11 months of 2023. He thanked Dr. Mitko Vassilev, General Manager of the Chamber, for his 30 years of service and expressed his gratitude to all the companies that sent nominations for the competition and pointed out that this once again proves that the business community in Bulgaria is active and has achieved a lot.
