for Direct Payments Submitted
within 2020 Campaign
Sofia, June 16 (BTA) - A total of 102,808 applications were submitted within the 2020 campaign for direct payments to farmers by the deadline of June 15, 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry said Tuesday. A total of 63,451 farmers applied with 3,883,961 ha of land under the schemes and measures for area payments, and 57,822 farmers applied with 3,841,704 ha of land under the Single Area Payment Scheme.
The Agriculture Ministry recalls that this is the first year that farmers had the opportunity to apply for direct payments through State Fund Agriculture's system for e-services, where 2,151 applications were submitted and a total of 98,056 lots were delineated.
Thus far, 79,990 farmers have registered and re-registered for the 2019/2020 agricultural year. The deadline for re-registration expired on June 15, but the registration of new farmers is open until September 30, 2020.
