GERB MP and former foreign minister Georg Georgiev has been elected Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said GERB’s press centre on Monday.  Nineteen Vice-Presidents are elected annually at the beginning of an ordinary session and remain in office until the opening of the next session Also, Georgiev was elected deputy chairman of the European People Party’s Group in PACE.  

Georgiev, who chairs the committee on human rights, religion and citizens’ complaints at the Bulgarian Parliament said that he will continue to work hard for the protection of human rights, which is the main mission of the Council of Europe and its bodies.
