site.btaMRF Floor Leader Peevski: Lukoil Not Paying Full Amount Owed to Transport Costs Compensation Fund

The Russian company Lukoil has once again demonstrated its disregard for the decisions of the Bulgarian Parliament and the laws of the country by contributing BGN 25 million less for December to the Fund, which compensates people for transport costs, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) quoted its Floor Leader Delyan Peevski as saying in a press release Saturday. 

According to the law for compensating consumers for transport expenses, it was estimated that Lukoil should have deposited around BGN 70 million for December by Saturday, only BGN 45 million of which has been deposited.

"I urge the competent State authorities to immediately take the necessary action to collect the EUR 25 million owed by the company, protecting the interests of the state and the people. It is their responsibility to strictly monitor every month that the company meets its obligations to the State," the MRF MP said.
