The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the University of Veliko Tarnovo (UVT) renewed their cooperation agreement here on Friday. The contract was signed by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and UVT Rector Dimitar Dimitrov.

"Today BTA renews one of its most successful partnerships, the first contract with the university was signed in 2021," Valchev said. He pointed out that among the clauses in the agreement is the provision of internships for UVT students both in the BTA press club in Veliko Tarnovo and in other cities where the university has branches - in Vratsa and Pleven.

According to the agreement, the information coming from the university to the agency must be systematic. Valchev said that BTA’s goal is to report information about the many activities of this Bulgarian university weekly, including through BTA’s English Service.

They discussed the possibility of increasing the number of students from the Bulgarian communities in Moldova, Ukraine and North Macedonia. “In all these places BTA has national press clubs and can promote UVT. The partnership in various BTA initiatives has been excellent,” Valchev recalled.

UVT has been working with BTA for a long time, Rector Dimitrov pointed out. “We have attended and contributed to many of the global meetings of Bulgarian media around the world organized by BTA,” he said.
