site.btaEstonian Foreign Minister to Pay Visit to Sofia at Bulgarian Counterpart's Invitation
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, Margus Tsahkna, will pay an official visit to Bulgaria on 19 January. The visit will take place at the invitation of Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel, her Ministry reported Thursday.
The two ministers and the delegations they lead will discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest and topical issues on the international agenda, such as the future of Europe and support for Bulgaria's membership in Schengen and the euro area, EU enlargement and the war in Ukraine.
Innovation, new technologies, e-government, artificial intelligence and other topics for the benefit of the citizens of both countries will also be among the topics discussed.
The meeting will aim to strengthen cooperation in a number of key areas, including digitalisation and e-government, as well as identify opportunities for joint projects and initiatives.
After the plenary talks, Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel and Minister Margus Tsahkna will make a joint statement to the media.
