Yellow alert for strong wind has been issued for 16 of Bulgaria's 28 administrative regions for Sunday, the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology says on its website.

The warning applies to the regions of Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Dobrich, Gabrovo, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Pazardzhik, Razgrad, Shumen, Sliven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo and Yambol. These areas will get temporarily strong southerly wind, with gusts reaching 20 to 24 metres per second.

Many parts of the country will have rain on Sunday, in some cases accompanied by thunder. Highs will be mainly between 11 C and 16 C, in Sofia 11 C. The atmospheric pressure will go further down, falling considerably below the month's average.
