site.btaHristo Botev Theatre, National Library in Caribrod Celebrate Anniversaries

Two institutions in Caribrod (Dimitrovgrad), southeastern Serbia, celebrate anniversaries in 2023, the multimedia portal FAR reported - Hristo Botev Theatre was founded in 1888 and celebrates its 135th anniversary, while National Library Detko Petrov was established ten years later.

Theatre is one of the pillars of the cultural life of Caribrod, the Bulgarian minority and everyone, who is oriented towards the development of multiculturalism. It successfully operates within the Caribrod Cultural Centre.

The theatre has hosted hundreds of plays in Bulgarian and Serbian.

The Detko Petrov National Library houses over 42,000 books, archival documents, manuscripts and printed works. The institution also performs publishing activity and maintains a museum.

A few years ago, the library acquired a summer stage, which is used to host literary evenings and other cultural events.
