There is heavy outbound traffic for trucks at the Kardam crossing at the border with Romania. Traffic on Danube Bridge at Ruse is carried out in one lane only due to repairs, the Border Police said Tuesday.
There is also heavy traffic at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the border with Turkey for outbound trucks.
Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on the border with Greece. Only cars and vans can pass through the border crossing points of Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.
Traffic is also normal at the border crossings with Serbia. Construction works are being carried out at the Kalotina checkpoint in connection. The activities require temporary narrowing of the lanes and reorganisation of the traffic of the vehicles passing through. During the holidays, travellers with cars should bear in mind that the temporary traffic organisation before and in the area of the border crossing may extend the crossing time.
At the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points.
The İhlas News Agency reported that the regional government in the Turkish city of Edirne has lifted the ban on pedestrians crossing the border checkpoints with Bulgaria at Kapakule (Kaptain Andreevo), Hamzabeyli (Lesovo) and Dereköy (Malko Tarnovo).
According to the local authorities' decision, pedestrians are allowed to cross the border crossings from the Turkish side to Bulgaria as of Tuesday morning.
During the pandemic, the authorities had banned pedestrians from passing through the border crossings, as well as pedestrian traffic in the area of the crossings and shopping in duty-free shops.
Only passengers in motor vehicles were allowed to pass.
