site.btaBulgarian Foreign Minister, Israeli Ambassador Discuss Situation in Middle East

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel conferred with Israeli Ambassador Yosef Levi Sfari on Tuesday, Gabriel said on Facebook. 

"We discussed the situation in the Middle East and the need to release hostages taken by Hamas," Gabriel noted. She reiterated that Bulgaria stands in solidarity with Israel.

The Bulgarian Foreign Minister added that the sides continue to invest in the development of their bilateral relations in key areas such as economy, health and environment. Gabriel thanked the Israeli Ambassador for the constructive meeting.

On November 29, Ambassador Sfari held a meeting with Bulgarian Education and Science Minister Galin Tzokov. They agreed to expand cooperation in science and Antarctic research. Sfari proposed Bulgaria and Israel to work on concluding a scientific cooperation agreement.
