Tourism Minister Zaritsa Dinkova said that Bulgaria is taking a reputable place on the map of European destinations for wine and culinary tourism. Dinkova was speaking to the organizers of the 12th DiVino.Taste exhibition, which took place in Sofia's Inter Expo Centre on December 1-3 .

Dinkova said that her Ministry’s efforts are aimed at promoting Bulgaria as a preferred destination for four-seasons sustainable tourism offering a competitive and quality product. In her words, specialized forms of tourism must be developed to this end, including wine tourism.

"Bulgaria already has considerable experience and is establishing itself as a sought-after destination for wine tourism. We have centuries-old traditions in wine production, and an increasing number of successful wineries have become preferred tourist attractions in recent years. Some of them also offer hotel accommodation, which is highly appreciated by foreign tour operators," Dinkova said.

The exhibition once again gave long-established producers and first-timers the opportunity to present their best selection of wines. One of the highlights of the discussions and masterclasses held during the event was the successful development of wine tourism, which can boost the development of individual regions.

This year's edition of DiVino.Taste offered visitors the chance to taste over 600 wines made by 96 producers from all over Bulgaria.
