site.btaCharity Concert Dedicated to International Day of Persons with Disabilities Takes Place in Taraclia
A charity concert, titled "Together On This Planet", dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3, was held in Taraclia, the centre of Bulgarians living in Moldova. The entrance to the concert was free, instead, visitors could bring clothes, toys, hygiene products and money for people in need.
Local artists performed vocal, dance and instrumental works. Young gymnasts from the Sports School of the Taraclia region also demonstrated their skills.
Members of the Fortuna organisation, who proposed the initiative, collected boxes of clothes, shoes, toys and other necessities for needy people from the city and the region.The head of the organization, Nadezhda Tanova, told BTA that "women will always stand for good and peace".
Data from the regional administration for social insurance and family care shows that the total number of people with disabilities in the Taraclia region is 2,893. There are 150 people with severe disabilities; 1,420 with pronounced disabilities; 723 people with moderate disabilities; 152 children with disabilities up to 18 years; and 479 persons with disabilities since childhood.
As of January 1, 2023, the average disability pension is RON 2.1 thousand (210 BGN), shows Moldova National Social Insurance Fund data.
