On Friday, Defence Minister Todor Tagarev met with the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada and Member of Parliament Rob Oliphant and with the Ambassador of Canada to Romania and Bulgaria Gavin Buchan to discuss bilateral defence cooperation.

The main topics of conversation were the dynamically changing security environment and security risks and threats in the Black Sea region. Another highlight of the talks was the need for constant adaptation to the new environment and the allocation of more funds for defence and rearmament.

The two sides agreed that support for Ukraine is a long-term commitment and shared information on their contributions.
