site.btaMountain Hiking Conditions Bad on Monday

The hiking conditions in the mountains are bad on Monday, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) reported to BTA. There is a new snow cover of about 70 cm with many drifts and deep drifts in places.

The temperatures are negative, there are moderate and strong winds and the weather is not suitable for tourism, the MRS stressed.

Over the mountains, cloud cover will be variable, with a strong west-northwesterly wind, and highs at -2C at 1,200 m, -8C at 2,000 m,  the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology reported.
