Due to the severe weather conditions, a state of emergency was declared in a number of settlements in the country as of Sunday evening.
Due to the severe early snowfall during the weekend, a lot of settlements throughout the country have no or partial electricity, and in many areas, roads are not possible. Schools in most of these areas will be closed on Monday.
Municipalities that have declared a state of emergency, include Valchi Dol, Aksakovo, Provadia in Varna region, on the Black sea; Tryavna in Gabrovo region, Central Bulgaria; Dobrichka and Krushari in Dobrich region, Northeastern Bulgarian; Razgrad region, Northeastern Bulgaria, Silistra region, Northeastern Bulgaria,; Omurtag in Targovishte region, Northeastern Bulgaria; Shumen region (apart from the town of Shumen), Northeastern Bulgaria; etc.
