The weather conditions for mountain hiking will be poor on Wednesday, the Mountain Rescue Service reported on Wednesday morning. It is windy and foggy with snow cover over the forest belt.

Rain is expected with possible snow in the higher parts.

Mountain rescuers are appealing to hikers not to underestimate the winter conditions in the mountains.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology forecasts rain showers, snow above 1,800 m. Moderate southwesterly wind, north-northwesterly in the evening. Highs: 9C at 1,200 m, 3C at 2,000 m.
