site.btaAir Raid Alert and Explosions in Odesa Tuesday Evening

Air raid sirens were sounded in Odesa on Tuesday and exposions were heard shortly after 5pm. In a post on Telegram, the local authorities urged people in Odesa and Odesa Region to take shelter because there was a risk of more explosions.

According to other posts on Telegram, there were missile hits in Odesa, Chornomorsk and Vylkove.

There was an earlier air raid alert in Odesa Region for a couple of hours around noon on Tuesday.

The Bulgarian community in Odesa Region is over 150,000-strong and is the third largest, according to the 2001 census.  Odesa alone is home to 50,000 to 60,000 Bulgarians. The majority of them are in the regions of Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
