Bulgarian chess player Nurgyul Salimova won a gold medal for her individual performance at the European Team Championship in Budva, where Bulgaria won the women's team title on Monday.

The 20-year-old IM Salimova achieved the highest rating on the second board - 2,530. The Bulgarian played in all nine games of the tournament and scored 6.5 points without conceding a single loss.

GM Antoaneta Stefanova and Viktoria Radeva also achieved a very high rating. The former world champion finished the tournament with a rating of 2,518, which is the fourth best on the first board.
