Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov should resign, take responsibility and go, Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova told journalists here on Tuesday.

"We condemn all acts of vandalism, destruction of state property, assault on policemen, we also condemn the actions of the police to beat peaceful citizens, journalists," she added.

She said the Socialists would support the establishment of a parliamentary commission of inquiry to establish the facts of this case. "We want the truth and the facts, peaceful people not to be targeted, this not to be swept under the rug," Ninova said.

The BSP leader called on GERB and Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria to support the vote of no confidence in the Government and to end this "assemblage" [a word used to describe the ruling parties that are not in a coalition] and to normalize the situation.
