Nine more Bulgarian citizens and members of their families have been successfully extracted from the Gaza Strip to safety in Cairo, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Mariya Gabriel said on Facebook Monday.

She thanked for the coordinated efforts between her ministry, Bulgaria’s diplomatic representations in Cairo, Ramallah and Tel Aviv, adding that further actions will be taken to bring them back to Bulgaria. “Our efforts continue to provide assistance to all Bulgarian citizens who have requested it,” Gabriel said.

There is a banner on the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry’s website that gives access to constantly updated information about assistance to Bulgarians in need, Gabriel also said.

Bulgarian citizens were met by Bulgarian diplomatic staff at the Rafah Border Crossing (between Egypt and the Gaza Strip) at the beginning of November and were transported to Cairo.
