An exhibition, titled "135 Years of St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia - Tradition of Being First" is on display at the open-air gallery in Kristal Garden between November 13 and 16, Sofia Municipality said on Monday. The exhibition is dedicated to the anniversary of the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia and presents its history, tracing it back to the university’s foundation in 1888.

The exhibition focuses on the initial stage of the university's development, including the work of the founders – its first seven professors, as well as the role of brothers Evlogi Georgiev and Hristo – entrepreneurs who funded the construction of the university buildings.

The role of students and their active participation in academic life, as well as their achievements in academic, scientific and sports activities, are also highlighted.

Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the rectors of the University over the years and the University insignias. Today's image of Sofia University is shown through the achievements of its faculties, departments and centres, as well as by the achievements of its independent units - the University Library, the University Botanical Gardens and the University Press.
