Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Floor Leader Delyan Peevski said the parliamentary group will support the 2024 Budget Bill only if the priority projects of each municipality are expressly stated in it so that local people can see a tangible improvement in their living standards. On Saturday, Peevski met with MRF mayors who won the recent local elections, the party said.

Peevski held the meeting in Blagoevgrad Region to celebrate the party's great election results, which make it the second most successful political force, and to map out priorities for each municipality.

Peevski said: "Our commitment to the people who trust and support the mayors nominated by MRF is to work in such a way that the mayors and municipal councils implement our policies for the benefit of the people. What we want from the government is clear rules and guarantees that all municipalities will have equal access to financing to achieve European standards."

The meeting with the mayors of Ardino, Kirkovo, Krumovgrad, Kardzhali, Momchilgrad, Satovcha, Yakoruda, Sungurlare, Sarnitsa, Isperih and Kubrat, among others, was attended by Parliament Deputy Chair Filiz Hyusmenova, MRF Deputy Chairmen Yordan Tsonev, Halil Letifov and Stanislav Atanasov, Deputy Floor Leader Hamid Hamid, MPs and regional chairpersons of the party.
