Bulgarian dance sport couple Milcho Petrov and Desislava Yovelinova placed sixth at the finals of the WDSF World Championship Latin Senior I, held in Vagos, Portugal on Sunday. This is a historic achievement for Bulgaria as the country's dancers had never reached the world championship finals in this discipline before.

Petrov and Yovelinova competed with 50 other couples from across the world. The Latin dance competition was won by David Lopez Fernandez and Jesica Garcia Perez.

Petrov and Yovelinova are from DSC Zoraya of Pleven, North Central Bulgaria, working with coach Yavor Valchev.
