Marks are left when the paper ballots are filled in and placed on top of each other, Tsvetozar Tomov said during the meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) here on Sunday, referring to the signals received from citizens.

A total of 198 voting machines used for the information campaign have been stowed away in a warehouse, Emil Voynov said, explaining that gendarmerie officers have reported his information.

On Friday the CEC decided eliminate machine voting and only allow paper ballots in the October 29 local elections.

A 10-year-old from the southwestern city of Blagoevgrad has sent a letter to the CEC asking whether he can run in the local elections, Commission member Georgi Bahanov said, adding that the letter produced "a good mood". The 10-year-old asked if he can run for mayor of some settlement, insisting not to be ignored just because he is a child. Bahanov suggested that CEC replies, reminding him that he must be at least 18 years of age in order to run, according to the Election Code.
