"I remain optimistic that we will do extremely well today [Sunday]. I voted for a better, more orderly, better governed Sofia," said after voting in the local elections Vassil Terziev, who is the candidate of the Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (Save Sofia) coalition.
"I hope there will be a high turnout because the election today predetermines many things that will happen or not happen, Terziev said.
"Whether it is paper, parchment or stone, the responsibility lies with us," he added in reference to the The Central Election Commission’s (CEC) decision to eliminate voting machines over security breach allegations. CC-DB contested the decision before the Supreme Administrative Court but it said that cannot consider the matter before Monday, October 30.
"It is certainly a problem that they removed the machines at the last minute, but this does not change the responsibility of each of us to vote," Terziev said.
