Bulgarian wrestler Remzi Osman won his eighth world title in veteran wrestling, the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation said on Thursday. At the 2023 Veterans World Wrestling Championships in Loutraki, Greece, he scored three victories by a pin in the 62-kilogram freestyle, division D (51-55 years).

Osman won against Japan's Satoshi Izumida at the start, ran over American Ashley Robinson Prebish in the semi-finals and got a 3-0 victory over Marin Hamoza (Moldova) in the final, as the bout ended in 3:16 minutes.

Thus Rezmi Osman defended his title from last year, won at the World Championships in Plovdiv. He already has 14 medals from World Veterans Championships, including 8 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze.

Currently Osman is also Razgrad's Lutvi Ahmedov Club Executive Director.

Two other Bulgarians finished fifth in the freestyle - Ivaylo Sarov (70 kg) and Mehmed Kodakov (100 kg).
