The number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases across Bulgaria on Monday stands at 550, according information posted on coronavirus.bg.

A total of 3,383 tests have been done, which means the positive rate was 16.2%. 

Eight patients with confirmed coronavirus infection have died during the day.

To date, 334 people diagnosed with COVID-19 are in hospital, 19 of whom are in intensive care. There are 62 new admissions, 59.68% of whom have not been vaccinated.

A total of 227 people have recovered from the disease on Monday, bringing the total confirmed recoveries since the pandemic started to 1,273,890. The active cases to date are 4,342.

A total of 3,580 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered Monday, bringing the total doses administered since the beginning of the immunization campaign to 4,637,007.

A total of 38,496 people in the country have lost the battle with the coronavirus out of the 1,316,718 confirmed infected since the start of the pandemic. 

An increase in the incidence of COVID-19 is reported in the regions of Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Lovech, Silistra, Ruse, Stara Zagora and Sofia, according to data published Monday on the website of the National Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases. The highest incidence is in the districts of Silistra - 118 per 100,000 population, and in Burgas and Ruse - 88 per 100,000.

There is no reason to change the health and safety regulations and impose any restrictions, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said on Tuesday during his monthly Q&A session on Facebook, to refute lies spread on the Internet about an imminent lockdown or mass wearing of masks because of COVID-19.
