European Union countries achieved a surplus of EUR 174.51 billion in trade in services with non-EU countries in 2022. This is the highest level of this indicator in the last 10 years, according to preliminary data from the European statistics agency Eurostat published on Friday on its website.

Provisional data show that in 2022, EU members exported services worth EUR 1,300 billion to countries outside of the EU, a 22% increase compared with 2021 ( EUR 1.067 billion). 

EU imports also recorded a significant increase in 2022, reaching EUR 1,126 billion, a 19% rise compared with 2021 (EUR 945 billion).

In 2022, Bulgaria achieved a surplus of over EUR 3.03 billion in its trade in services with non-EU countries, according to Eurostat. The value of Bulgarian exports amounts to EUR 5.64 billion and imports to EUR 2.6 billion.
