Plamen Tomov Appointed New Police Chief in Montana

Senior Commissioner Plamen Tomov was appointed director of the Regional Directorate of tke Interior Ministry in Montana by order of Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, the directorate said on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Tomov was presented to the directorate's leadership by Deputy Minister Kiril Tsenkin.

Plamen Tomov was born in 1976 in Lom. He graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior in Sofia with a specialty in Crime Prevention and Public Order Protection and has a master's degree in law from the Southwest University in Blagoevgrad. He was appointed to the Ministry of the Interior in 2001 as an intelligence officer in the fight against organized crime sector at the Police Directorate in Montana. He has also held the positions of Group Chief, Head of the Crime Fighting Sector at the Montana Police Directorate and Head of the NPP-Kozloduy District Office at the Regional Interior Ministry Directorate in Vratsa. In the period 2019-2021 Plamen Tomov was Director of the Montana Regional Directorate and in the last two years he worked in the Operational Service of Montana Police.

Tomov is replacing Marian Bozhinov at the post.
