site.btaDay Two of Apollonia Festival of Arts Features Music, Literature and Cinema

The second festival day of the 39th edition of the Apollonia Festival of Arts ended with a concert by Mihaela Marinova. She performed some of her latest hits. The young performer expressed her joy at having the chance to sing in the seaside city to the audience gathered in the Sozopol Amphitheatre. 

The second festival day of the Apollonia Festival of Arts offered the Sozopol public several events in the field of literature, cinema and music.

The premiere of the latest collection of poems by the poet Stefan Tsanev, titled  "Heavenly Perspective", took place at the Art Gallery in the city. The book was presented by publisher Boyana Apostolova and Svetlozar Zhelev. Poems from the book were read by actor Vladimir Penev.

The second book premiere of the evening was the book Sozopol in Images and Words by Mihail Zaimov. The edition, which contains archival photos, was presented by Zaimov and by Peyo Kolev, creator of the site http://www.lostbulgaria.com/ and photo editor of the book. The photographs in the volume are accompanied by short stories throigh the author's perspective.

There were alsontwo film priemiestes as part pf the festival on Tuesday. The film, Plucked by the Roots, was written and directed by Antoaneta Bachurova and Vladimir Lyutskanov. It follows the story of Prof. Dimitar Atanasov and his family in difficult historical times.

The documentary film Morality is Good was also screened, inspired by the life and activities of the famous lawyer, intellectual and public figure Prof. Dr. Christian Takov. Veselin Dimanov wrote and directed the film.

The Bon-Bon children's vocal group also performed in Sozopol on Tuesday, presenting a new original composition directed by Biserka Kolevska, with music by Stefan Dimitrov, costumes by Elena Tsonkova  and choreography by Milen Dankov. The set, which transported audiences to an imaginary underwater kingdom, was created mainly through a video screen and huge balloons resembling underwater bubbles. The one-hour performance originally includes about 60 children, but had a slightly smaller composition in Sozlopol.

In the Archaeological Museum in the seaside town,  pianist Veneta Neynska performed a piano recital with works by Ferenc Liszt, Dimitar Nenov and Frederic Chopin.
