Shifts in curriculum content won’t be mechanical, Education Minister Galin Tzokov told a news briefing on Thursday.

According to him, two teams have worked on the changes to curriculum content, proposed for public consultation. They worked in 2021 and 2022 under two different ministers, said Tzokov. He added that his team will take into consideration the views and opinions received from teachers.

According to the Minister, the changes should aim at greater interdisciplinarity which will lead to a new model of structuring an acquisition of the curriculum content. Curricula should be aimed at not just the reproduction of knowledge but at forming skills.

Minister Tzokov said that under his orders a working group has been established which is discussing standards for management of quality of the Bulgarian school education.
