Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide reported a rate of return for the first half of financial (and calendar) year 2023, the company said, quoted by dpa on Tuesday.

The group's net profit soared to EUR 85 million (USD 93 million) in the six-month period, compared to a EUR 53.1 million loss in January-June 2022.

In Bulgaria, the group reported a passenger traffic of 1,212,652, up by 43% from the first half of 2022. The number of passengers handled by Varna Airport increased by 59.7% to 764,748, and the 447,904 who passed through Burgas Airport were 21.3%, year on year.

Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD is a 60-40 German-Bulgarian joint venture which operates Burgas Airport and Varna Airport under a 35-year concession.
