site.btaBTA Signs Partnership Agreement with Regional History Museum - Sofia
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the Regional History Museum - Sofia Tuesday signed a partnership agreement. It was signed by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and the Museum's Director Veneta Handzhiiska.
Valchev said: "Today BTA added the Regional History Museum - Sofia to the circle of its partners." This is one of Bulgaria's oldest museums, although it acquired enough space for its exposition rather late, he said.
BTA has already signed partnership agreements with several museums in and outside Sofia. Besides, the news agency has a BG Archaeology section, which provides information on finds in Bulgaria.
Valchev explained that the agreement settles the copyright of the materials BTA will get from the museum. In addition, the news agency will receive support in the form of the works of Austrian and Bulgarian painter and engineer Joseph Oberbauer, which are the property of the museum. They will be used in a book on BTA's history, which will be published in August.
For her part, Veneta Handzhiiska said the agreement was signed in the year when BTA is marking its 125th anniversary and the Sofia History Museum is turning 95. BTA can rely on the museum's ample collection for future initiatives. In addition, the museum will provide information on its activities, initiatives, exhibitions and educational programmes.
Valchev said BTA will publish up-to-date information about the museum in its Bulgarian and English-language services.
