site.btaHousing Transactions in Most EU Countries Down in 2022 Y/Y, in Bulgaria up 6%
Compared to 2021, the number of housing transactions in 2022 declined in the 16 EU countries for which data is available, Eurostat said on Thursday. This decline follows a rise in nearly all countries registered in 2021 compared to 2020.
The most serious decline in transactions in 2022 was reported in Denmark (-31. 6%), Finland (-16.6%), the Netherlands (-16.2%) and Luxembourg (-15.1%). In contrast, Cyprus (+27.4 %), Ireland (+7.7 %) and Spain (+6 %) recorded the largest increases in home sales.
Housing transactions in Bulgaria rose by nearly 6% over the same period.
