site.btaSea Water at Albena Resort Free of Pollution, Independent Lab Results Show

The sea water at the Albena resort is clean according to laboratory data. Water pollution is below the maximum permissible levels, Stanislav Stilianov, head of Albena's Advertising and Public Relations Department, told BTA. 

Seawater samples are taken every day and sent to an independent laboratory to avoid speculation about how reliable the data is, Stilianov added. The initiative for independent sampling and testing of seawater in Albena started at the end of June as a complement to the monitoring carried out by the authorities every week.

A separate laboratory has been set up in the holiday village, which also tests the water in the swimming pools and the water supply and sewerage system. All water samples taken are within the absolute standard.

"Albena is supplied with fresh water mainly through the mineral springs and is not so dependent on the water supply of the water utility. Of course, water is supplied from there too, but the quantity is small. There is every day sampling and so far all the results obtained have been within the standards. They are even well below the maximum permissible amounts of pollution, so we can confidently say that the water in Albena is clean - the water in the sea, in the pools, in the hotels," Stilianov concluded.
