President Radev, PM Denkov, Deputy PM Gabriel Congratulate Greek PM Mitsotakis on Party Parliamentary Election Victory

President Rumen Radev congratulated over the phone Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the victory of the New Democracy party in the Greek parliamentary elections, the presidential press office said Monday.

Radev expressed confidence that the excellent political dialogue and cooperation between Bulgaria and Greece will continue to develop in the interest of the Bulgarian and Greek people, the strategic partnership between the two countries and the region, the presidential press office further said.

The results of the Sunday parliamentary elections in Greece showed an absolute majority of New Democracy and eight parties in parliament. "We have finally closed the circle of division and toxicity," New Democracy leader Mitsotakis told supporters in Athens.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel congratulated Mitsotakis on his outstanding electoral victory in Greece. "I wish you the best of luck, Prime Minister, and look forward to our cooperation!" the Foreign Minister tweeted. 

Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said the Bulgarian government will continue its successful strategic partnership with Greece, including on key energy and infrastructure projects for the country and the region, the press centre of the Council of Ministers said. 

Denkov congratulated Mitsotakis on his convincing victory in the Greek parliamentary elections, which gives him a mandate to form a regular cabinet.
