Conditions for hiking in the mountains are bad on Monday, the Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross said. The weather is cloudy and foggy, with rain in the Central Balkan Range.

The facilities in the mountain resorts usually undergo maintenance on Mondays, but in Bansko the gondola lift is working, as well as the Sitnyakovo lift in Borovets.

Considerable cloud is expected in the mountains, with short thundery showers, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology said. Moderate to strong north-northwesterly wind. Highs: at 1,200 meters - about 18C, at 2,000 meters - about 11C.
