Balchik Palace Cultural Centre in in the seaside town of Balchik is hosting Romanian Culture Days. The event is organized in partnership with the Mihai Eminescu Cultural Centre, the oldest one in Romania, established in 1939 by the Prince Carol Foundation. It has been an institutional partner UNESCo since 2020, Balchich Palace Chief Expert responsible for international fests and special events, Galya Georgieva, said.

The Romanian Culture Days project will include an art exhibition, a theatrical performance and traditional Romanian folk dances.

The "Romanian traditions" exhibition can be seen at the Stone Hall until July 2. It features works by artists Vitalie Butescu, Vali Irina Ciobanu, Maria Jarda, and Dmitri Murahovski. The paintings in the exhibition are a visual journey into Romanian tradition, reflecting Romanian identity through the variety of folk costumes, through the colourful landscapes of Bulgaria's northern neighbour.

At the opening of the exhibition on June 23, actress Claudia Motea will perform a fragment of "Royal Monologue", a multimedia performance that offers an unprecedented journey into the lives of some Romanian cultural figures such as poets Mihai Eminescu and Carmen Silva, Constantin Brancusi, and Cela Delavranca, Georgieva said.

The Doruletul Folk Ensemble will complement the experience offering traditional Romanian folk dances on the Open Stage on July 1.

The Romanian Culture Days are part of the festival programme In the Palace - Balchik 23, which is included in the Artistic and Creative Calendar of the Cultural Institute and the National Cultural Calendar of the Ministry of Culture.
