site.bta70th Anniversary of Bulgarian Exarchate Being Proclaimed Bulgarian Patriarchate
Wednesday marks 70 years since the Bulgarian Exarchate was proclaimed Bulgarian Patriarchate by the Third National Church Convention in 1953, and Metropolitan Cyril of Plovdiv became Patriarch of Bulgaria. To commemorate the occasion, a service is scheduled to be held at the St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia on Wednesday morning.
