site.btaBulgaria Will Participate in World Paella Day CUP Final for First Time

The World Paella Day CUP will take place on September 20 in Valencia, Spain, and Bulgaria is participating for the first time in the final, Bulgaria’s Consulate General in Valencia said.

The aim is to popularize the paella by choosing the best chef of this tasty and well-loved Spanish dish. Cooks from Bulgaria, Ireland, France, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, the UAE, China and Japan are among the finalists in the prestigious competition.

In this year’s edition of World Paella Day Cup Bulgaria will be represented by Nick Todorov, who is one of the organizers of Bulgaria’s largest festivals, including the Spice Music Festival, Hills of Rock, the Fish and Wine Festival, Street Food Festival.

In the final Todorov will compete against another 11 entrants who will have to make their own paella recipes. Todorov’s paella will be made with products which are found only in Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula.

Nick Todorov is famous as the creator of a concept for an alternative city lifestyle and a shop chain of the same name, In the Dark. Cooking is among his hobbies and paella has been his passion for years. His first encounter with paella took place 25 years ago and so far he has made hundreds of paellas at festivals, parties, demonstrations and workshops.
