site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 4,008 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 22.3%

Sofia, March 19 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 295,777, after 17,973 tests identified 4,008
 new infections on Thursday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
22.3 per cent.

A total of 1,915,561 tests have been performed in this country
since the first infections were diagnosed on March 8, 2020.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 1,121 positive
 tests, followed by Bourgas Region with 329 cases and Plovdiv
Region with 312.

The active cases are 51,919. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 8,082, including 670 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 11,100, with 57 new
cases detected since Wednesday.

Another 1,584 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 232,041.

One hundred and two fatalities were reported, and the death toll
 now adds up to 11,817.

With 5,350 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 356,052
persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 66,741 have received both doses. NV/LG
