site.btaTourism Ministry Makes Fifth Payment Totalling over Lv 3.139 Mln to Tour Operators, Travel Agents

April 5 (BTA) - The Tourism Ministry Monday said it has made a fifth payment to tour operators and travel agents to be used for compensations of clients whose trips were cancelled during the period from March 1 to December 31, 2020. The grant amounts to 3,139,606.94 leva distributed among 99 enterprises.

A total of 572 enterprises carrying out tour operator and travel agency activities have received funding thus far, the resources granted amounting to 32,256,993. 66 leva. The money, which is allocated from the state budget as part of the Tourism Ministry's measures aimed at helping the sector overcome the consequences of COVID-19, is to the total amount of 51 million leva.

The lump sum aid amounts to 4 per cent of the corresponding enterprise's 2019 turnover exclusive of VAT as indicated in its financial report under the Accountancy Act.
