site.btaTomislav Donchev: As the First Political Force We Have a Duty to Propose a Government

Sofia, April 12 (BTA) - On Monday, during a GERB briefing to
present analyzes from the recent parliamentary vote, Deputy
Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev said that "as the first
political force, we are obliged to propose a government, despite
its small chances of being supported".

There will be both continuity and change in the cabinet proposed
by GERB, Donchev said. The party is ready with a nomination for
chair of the 45th National Assembly. A compromise with the name
of the prime minister has not been discussed, and no talks have
been held for support with other political forces entering
parliament.

''You will find out the names very soon, do not ask for all the
answers on Monday,'' Donchev said.

He noted that GERB has the capacity to offer trained personnel
for a government and that the party will propose a cabinet not
as a political move, but a government that will be able to work
from day one and pursue problems. According to Donchev, the time
of big talk, of arguing has passed, the time has come to make
decisions. The decisions that GERB must take with full
responsibility have been taken and the party will follow the
constitutional procedure, Donchev said.

''I heard that everyone has won this election, they are
commenting on the end of eras, the beginning of others - I know
from most sports that the winner is the one who comes in first.
Without taking away the right of all others who claim to be
winners - there can be only one winner when it comes to the
number of votes, who is in first place in municipalities, by the
 number of MPs'', said Donchev.

Donchev pointed out that GERB's victory was in spite of
everything, including: the hot political summer, the natural
effect of exhaustion from power, attempts to disguise the
election process, the total consolidation of some political
forces that want to "sweep out, remove someone". ''I can accept
as a legitimate political goal of someone to 'sweep out' [Health
Minister] Kostadin Angelov, me, or someone else, but not 'sweep
out' 800,000 Bulgarians,'' said Donchev and thanked the
Bulgarian citizens for the support.

Donchev also said that changes within the deputy chairmen of
GERB are possible at the forthcoming national conference of GERB
 in May. RI/DT
