site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 2,185 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 14.8%

Sofia, April 16 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 382,761 after 14,747 tests identified 2,185
new infections on Thursday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
14.8 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 538 positive
tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 232 cases, Varna Region
with 207, and Bourgas Region with 125.

The active cases are 67,391. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 9,523, including 811 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 12,791, with 62 new
cases detected since Wednesday.

Another 3,393 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 300,391.

One hundred and eight fatalities were reported, and the death
toll now adds up to 14,979.

With 14,998 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 620,375
persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 496,994 have been injected with one dose
and 123,381 have received both doses. NV/LG
