May 10 (BTA) - The so-called green corridors, where people can get inoculated against COVID-19 on a first-come, first-served basis, will continue functioning, said here on Monday the Bulgarian Drug Agency's chief, Bogdan Kirilov. He was speaking after 273,780 doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine were delivered, explaining the same quantity of vaccines is expected next week as well.

Around two million vaccine doses are expected in May and another 2.5 million doses in June. Around 125,000 people have been vaccinated since the start of May, many of whom took advantage of the green corridors, Kirilov explained.

Commenting J&J's Janssen vaccine, Kirilov said that this vaccine will be used to inoculate people working in the tourism sector on a priority basis, and making it available in the green corridors is not being discussed at this point.

Asked if there will be a surplus of vaccines in Bulgaria at some point in time, Kirilov said that options are being discussed at European level for different countries to donate or resell any surplus vaccines they might have. RI/MY
