According to him, Bulgarians and Romanians are not familiar with each other’s cultures despite being neighbours. In his words, both from a geographical and a geopolitical point of view, there hardly exists another river and a place in Europe in general that so clearly and categorically divides two countries and two peoples the way the Danube does.
