The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the Union of Bulgarian Actors (UBA) Thursday signed a cooperation agreement. BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said: "This is a valuable new partnership with one of the few organizations with a long history similar to BTA's."
BTA was established in 1898 and the first society of theatrical figures was set up in 1921.
BTA will provide media support to the upcoming 17th edition of the Ikar Awards organized by UBA. They will be announced in line with tradition at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre on World Theatre Day, March 27. All the nominated productions will be performed during the Sofia Theatre Salon.
UBA Chairman Hristo Mutafchiev said the partnership with BTA would continue during the digitization of the ample archives of the two institutions. Valchev said BTA would prepare a special issue of its LIK magazine using archive material of UBA and BTA.
"With this new partnership, BTA continues on its mission to present Bulgaria's beautiful faces through systematic coverage of cultural events through its Knowledge and Culture, LIK service," said Valchev.
BTA has already signed cooperation agreements with the National Theatre, the Theatre Bulgarian Army, the Sofia Theatre, the theatres of Shumen, Stara Zagora and Varna, as well as individual partnership agreements with well-known actors.
