Yanqing, February 7 (BTA special correspondent Dimitar Velyov) - Bulgaria's Eva Vukadinova finished 36th in the giant slalom at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 on Monday.

20-year-old Vukadinova, who made her Olympic debut on Monday, crossed the finishing line on the Ice River course at the Yanqing Alpine Centre in 2:11.46 minutes.

Vukadinova finished 44th in the first run but climbed up to 36th after the second, reaching a career-best ranking in a major competition.

Sweden's Sara Hector won the gold medal in the giant slalom with a finish time of 1:55.69 minutes. Federica Brignone of Italy was 0.28 seconds slower than Hector over the two legs to add a silver medal to the bronze she won in the giant slalom at Pyeongchang in 2018.
