Social Security
Sofia, October 16 (BTA) - Bulgaria and Britain will cooperate in
combating undeclared employment in cross-border work and
provision of services, the Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and
Social Policy said in a press release on Thursday. The two
countries will also help each other in preventing exploitation
in cross-border employment and forced labour, as well as in
implementing social security regulations.
A letter of intent to this end has been signed, for Bulgaria, by
Deputy Prime Minister and Labour and Social Policy Minister
Yordan Hristoskov and Finance Minister Roumen Porozhanov, and
for the UK, by Esther McVey, Minister of State for Employment at
the Department for Work and Pensions.
The sides will partner within the territory of Bulgaria and
within the entire European territory of the UK. A bilateral
working group will be formed and will meet for the first time
within a year after the signing of the document.
In Luxembourg on Thursday, Hristoskov took part in a meeting of
the EU Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs
Council, his Ministry said. LI/LG
